La
Carrera Trophy Challenge - 5 to 7 November
The
organisers of La Carrera Trophy Challenge have found themselves in the
position where they have been forced to re-schedule this innovative
event for various reasons..
Among the reasons for
the re-schedule are that the most challenging roads of the Rally
– namely, the Pass of the Cattle and the roads beyond Applecross
- have been ruled out because we have been informed that the Pass of
the Cattle will be closed for around 10 weeks for emergency repairs,
and the Kenknock Hydro-electric road in Perthshire is closed to the
public at present.
These two roads alone were to form the main
thrust of the rally. Although it would have been possible to re-route
the rally it would not have had the challenge that was envisaged by the
organisers.
Unfortunately the next free date in the
CCHMSC rally calendar is late 2012 as next year's calendar is already
full. The 2012 La Carrera will be co-promoted with a well
established National Club.
Those who have entered will have their cheques for the entry fee returned.
