Monte Carlo Historique - 2015 Car Zero unveiled Photos courtesy Stephen Rowan
Douglas and June Anderson unveil their car zero on Thursday 15 January
Douglas
Anderson, coordinator of the Monte Carlo Historique start at Paisley
unveiled this magnificent Austin Healey Sprite that he will drive
to Monaco with his wife June as navigator, as the
course car for the Monte at West End Garage, Broughty Ferry on
Thursday 15 January. The car will be displayed in the garage
showroom
window for a few days.
The car has been thoroughly prepared
with new oils seals, clutch, and shockers all round, plus new alloys
shod with winter tyres to give it the best opportunity of making this
epic journey. Jim Wilson who will lead the Ecosse to Reims tour
carried out the work and even drove the car in the recent snow storms
just to check it out. Finished in period light blue with a white
hardtop mean both Douglas and June should be well protected against any
snow and ice that the French Alps can throw at them.
You can see them off on Wednesday 28 January at Paisley Abbey when they will be first away off the ramp. We wish them good luck for their trip. |
