 2014 Events

Monte Carlo Historique Rally Start - 23 January
Glasgow once again has been chosen as a start point for this famous event, joining Oslo, Barcelona, Reims, Stockholm,  and Monaco as start venues. THe route heads to Dover and across to Calais before gathering with the other starters at Reims.

Monte Gala Dinner - 22 January

Start the event with a dinner with the entrants of the monte carlo historique at the Blythswood Hotel. Rosemary Smith, all the way from Dublin, will be the after dinner speaker. In 1964 Rodemary took the ladies prize on the Circuit of Ireland Rally driving a Sunbeam Rapier, and in 1965 in a Hillman Imp won the Tulip Rally outright. She was controversially disqualified from the 1966 Monte Carlo Rally, after winning the Coupe des Dames, the ladies class. when all ten cars were disqualified.

Monte Car Display - 23 January

Parc fermé for Historique rally cars at Paisley Abbey from 15.00 onwards. Food, stalls, family entertainment and or course 100 classic cars.

Heritage Runs - 23 January

This year the club have put on three Heritage Runs aimed at giving all classic owners an event to remember

Ecosse - Monaco   Follow in the tyre tracks of the historique cars as they leave Glasgow, but at a more leisurely pace, and overnights in some great accommodation. This tour starts over the same ramp as the Monte cars, then heads for the Cote D'Azur while still meeting up with the competitors at some of the main control points.

Run to the Loch.   Experience the feel of an alpine drive through Scotland's countryside. A 40 mile tour to a famous loch.

Run to the Borders.  This tour will take you to a well known border control of years past follwing the route of  those Monte cars.

All the tours include Rally Plates and Roadbook. Cars representing those that would have taken part in the Monte Carlo Rallies from the 1940’s through to the 1970’s will be especially welcome. The event will be flagged off from the Start Ramp of the Rallye Monte Carlo Historique, once the Rally cars have been cheered on their way. Regs for all three now available.

Tour of the Kingdom  - 6 April
A change of scenery for those regulars of the Argyll Classic. Moving the event east to the Kingdom of Fife offers not only a change of scenery but a chance to drive some of the lesser known roads in this unique part of Scotland.  There may even be the opportunity to try a few optional tests as well.

International Auto Ecosse -  7 & 8 June
Starting at Dumfries this favourite in the calendar, with both CCHMSC and our Club Triumph friends, will drive a new route to take in some venues of past years heading north to the Fort William area. The second day offers a choice, either join Highland Car Club's Great Glen Rally for a great day of tests, see below, or continue the tour over some roads never before travelled on this event. All get together at the finish in Inverness. Wilderness? You don't know the meaning of the word until you drive these fantastic roads!

Great Glen Rally -  8 June
Following the success of the inaugural event in 2013 Highland Car Club are putting together a sequel that will take crews, be they old hands or newcomers, to some new exciting venues for a series of great tests along and around Loch Ness, on their way to the finish at Inverness.

Classic Autosports BBQ - Saturday 13 July
David Barnett of Classic Autosports is always keen to see all you Classic Car owners and enthusiasts for a BBQ and visit to the fascinating world of Classic Car restoration. Enjoy the BBQ supper and the banter amongst like minded classic car enthusiasts,
while you see some of the cars being restored and rebuilt. You never know you might just find a car that you have always wanted. Starts 12 noon until late. Same weekend as the Glamis Extravaganza, so why not see both.

Crofterra Pandemonia   -   6 & 7 September
This year will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the event from Highland Car Club, so look forward to something extra special, though every event is spectacular. One of the best tours of the highlands of Scotland you can find, put together by people who live there, and know all the best roads like the back of their hands. Starts and finishes in Inverness, with an overnight somewhere 'special'.
Scone Yesteryear  Show  -   14 September
We return to the show at which we won the Best Car Club Stand, on our first visit at the 2013 event. With a great selection of members cars can we make it two years in a row to win the top prize?

Classic High Tea  -  7  December
Unless we put together another 'Monte' reliability shakedown run as in 2013, we will put on a members get together to chat about their year of classic motoring at the Royal George Hotel in Perth.
