Championship Regulations

1. Caledonian Classic and Historic Motor Sport Club Ltd., will promote a Championship, to be known as the 2008 Club Championship. It will be open to all fully elected and paid-up members of the Club.

2. The Championship will comprise of any permitted event run by the Club or by any other MSA-recognised club, during the year. See above for a full list of events. The Championship year will start on the first of January and finish at the end of October 2008.

3. Only club members results will be taken into consideration in all events. Club members will automatically be enrolled in this Championship.

4. Scoring will be 20 points for 1st O/A then 19,18,17,16 etc with 1 additional point for a class win. All non-finishers will receive 1 point.
Classes actually run on the event to count, not championship classes.
Clerk of the Course, Secretary or Chief Marshal for an event scores 15 points but this is only available on 1 event per person per year, subsequent events 5 points. All other officials and marshals 5 points (no limit to the number of events).

5. Classes; there will be five classes in the Championship

  • H1. Cars built before 31-12-1967 Up to and including 1500cc *
  • H2. Cars built before 31-12-1967 Over 1500cc *
  • Post Historic. Cars built between 1-1-1968 and 31-12-1974 *
  • Classic. Cars built between 1-1-1975 and 31-12-1979
  • Modern Sporting. Cars built after 1-1-1980

* As defined in the MSA General Regulations

6. The number of events to count will be as follows;
If 6 events run, 1 score may be dropped;
If less than 6 events run, all scores will count.

7. In the unlikely event of a tie, reference will be made to the first event that all tied competitors took part in and the tie will go in favour of the highest overall score in that event.

8. Points tables will be published from time to time on the Club website and newsletter. Any protest regarding points must be made to the Championship co-ordinator within 7 days of publication. That co-ordinator is Mr Jim Paterson, 254 Rullion Road, Penicuik, EH26 9JL, phone 01968 672644.

9. The CCHMSC committee reserve the right to amend or add to these regulations at any time should it become necessary. The committee will act as stewards and arbiters in the event of any dispute.

10. Awards will be presented as follows;

  • Club Champion
  • Second overall
  • First in each class; an award (except Club Champion)
  • Ladies Champion. The highest placed lady in the Club Championship (except the Club Champion);
  • Marshals Award
